Drip irrigation for Nurseries
Drip irrigation is very water efficient and ideal for runs of trees in outdoor standing out areas and also baskets in production polytunnels or is sales areas. Drip irrigation can also be used around the entrance of the nursery to water baskets and tubs to make the nursery look inviting.
Drip irrigation for tree production
Tree irrigation systems for container grown trees normally involves a supply pipe suspended above the containers and, where customers are present, drippers suspended over each tree to eliminate damage by customers ripping out the dripper as the select the tree. Where the trees are just growing on, drippers on stakes can run to individual tree pots, ensuring the water always reaches the pot. Long runs of trees can be watered together and the zone can be put on a timer to automated the tree watering.
Drip irrigation for production hanging baskets
20mm supply pipe is normally strapped to the support rail above the baskets with a dripper inserted into the pipeline and a lead running down to the basket itself. As the drippers only normally use 2 l/h each, many hundreds of baskets can be watered at a time. As the water goes directly to the heart of the basket, wastage is minimised.
