Temporary Lawn Watering Kits

Temporary lawn watering kits are ideal for watering lawns that have been recently turfed or seeded. These lawns are very susceptible to drying out, so need daily or even twice daily watering.

Temporary lawn watering kits are designed to be used from an outside tap with a reasonable pressure and flow and are designed to have a low precipitation rate to ensure the soil does not become waterlogged. Commercial quality irrigation nozzles are used to ensure the water coverage is even. The low precipitation rate also has the advantage of allowing a reasonably large area to be watered from a single tap.

The temporary lawn watering system consists of a number of sprinkler risers and hosepipe to connect the sprinklers together. The hose then links back to the outside tap to provide the water supply. Once the lawn has been seeded or turfed the sprinkler system can be laid out and then left on the lawn until it has established. If the kit has been purchased by the householder, the system can be take out again and used when there are prolonged periods of dry weather. For the landscape contractor the system reduces the need to return to projects that have been newly laid to water them in, and the kit can be moved from project to project.

The temporary lawn watering system can be automated with a simple battery operated tap timer to allow the irrigation to take place during the early morning or late evening when the evaporation rates are at their lowest.
